Akrūra’s Prayers (Akrūra-stuti): The Lord as Cause of Causes, Virāṭ, and the Goal of All Paths
भूस्तोयमग्नि: पवनं खमादि- र्महानजादिर्मन इन्द्रियाणि । सर्वेन्द्रियार्था विबुधाश्च सर्वे ये हेतवस्ते जगतोऽङ्गभूता: ॥ २ ॥
bhūs toyam agniḥ pavanaṁ kham ādir mahān ajādir mana indriyāṇi sarvendriyārthā vibudhāś ca sarve ye hetavas te jagato ’ṅga-bhūtāḥ
Ang lupa, tubig, apoy, hangin, eter at ang pinagmulan nito na huwad na ego; ang mahat-tattva, ang kabuuang prakṛti at ang sanhi nito na pagpapalawak na puruṣa ng Panginoon; ang isip, mga pandama, mga bagay ng pandama, at ang mga diyos na tagapangasiwa ng pandama—lahat ng mga sanhi ng paglitaw ng sansinukob ay isinilang mula sa mga sangkap ng Iyong transendental na katawan.
This verse teaches that earth, water, fire, air, and ether—and even subtler principles like mahat-tattva, mind, senses, and their objects—are all limbs of the Supreme Lord, showing His all-pervading nature.
In his prayers, Akrura glorifies Krishna as the ultimate source and support of all causes—material elements, cosmic principles, and even the demigods—thereby affirming Krishna’s supremacy beyond the universe.
It encourages seeing all aspects of life—body, mind, nature, and powers in the world—as connected to God, fostering humility, gratitude, and devotional consciousness in daily actions.
