Akrūra’s Mission: The Departure from Vraja and the Yamunā Vision of Viṣṇu-Ananta
स्मरन्त्यश्चापरा: शौरेरनुरागस्मितेरिता: । हृदिस्पृशश्चित्रपदा गिर: सम्मुमुहु: स्त्रिय: ॥ १६ ॥
smarantyaś cāparāḥ śaurer anurāga-smiteritāḥ hṛdi-spṛśaś citra-padā giraḥ sammumuhuḥ striyaḥ
May iba pang dalagang gopī na nahimatay sa pag-alaala lamang sa mga salita ni Śauri (Kṛṣṇa), na pinalamutian ng magagandang parirala at binigkas na may ngiting mapagmahal na tumatagos sa puso.
This verse shows that remembrance of Kṛṣṇa—especially His loving smile and heart-touching words—can overwhelm the devotee with ecstatic emotion, indicating the depth and power of viraha-bhakti.
Their love is so intense that Kṛṣṇa’s remembered glances and sweet speech pierce the heart, producing spiritual ecstasy that overwhelms bodily composure, described here as swooning or fainting.
Cultivate steady remembrance of Kṛṣṇa through nāma-japa, hearing His līlās, and reflecting on His compassionate qualities—letting the heart be softened and purified by sincere devotion.
