Vīrabhadra Destroys Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
Dakṣa-yajña-vināśa
This verse illustrates how adharma escalates into harassment and violence; the Bhagavatam repeatedly warns that offending saintly persons brings severe reactions and ruins spiritual progress.
In the Daksha-yajna narrative, hostility and disrespect toward Lord Shiva led to chaos; destructive forces disrupted the sacrifice, and in the turmoil even sages, their wives, and nearby demigods were targeted.
Guard against anger and factionalism—when respect for the saintly and the sacred is lost, harm spreads indiscriminately; cultivate humility and restraint to prevent conflict from escalating.
