शकुन्तलायान्तु बली यस्य नाम्ना तु भारताः सुतेषु मातृकोपेन नष्टेषु भरतस्य च

śakuntalāyāntu balī yasya nāmnā tu bhāratāḥ suteṣu mātṛkopena naṣṭeṣu bharatasya ca

Mula kay Śakuntalā ay isinilang ang isang anak na makapangyarihan; sa kanyang pangalan nakilala ang mga tao bilang mga Bhārata. At nang mapuksa ang mga anak ni Bharata dahil sa galit (sumpa) ng kanilang ina, ito man ay isinasalaysay.
