Agni Purana — Raja-dharma, Shloka 48

Mantra-śakti, Dūta-Carā (Envoys & Spies), Vyasana (Calamities), and the Sapta-Upāya of Nīti

आयाते दर्शनं वाचा तवाहमिति चार्पणं यः सम्प्राप्तधनोत्सर्ग उत्तमाधममध्यमः

āyāte darśanaṃ vācā tavāhamiti cārpaṇaṃ yaḥ samprāptadhanotsarga uttamādhamamadhyamaḥ

Kapag may dumating (bilang namamanhik o panauhin), yaong nagbibigay ng marangal na pagharap (darśana) at, sa pamamagitan ng salita, iniaalay ang kaloob na nagsasabing, “Iyo ito; ako’y iyo,” at saka isinusuko ang yamang napasakamay—siya’y itinuturing na mataas, mababa, o katamtaman ang antas, ayon sa paraan at diwa ng pag-aalay.
