Daily Duties of a King

It teaches mantra-nīti: practical governance technique—keeping counsel (state deliberations) strictly controlled and preventing leakage through observable signs such as the king’s expressions, gestures, or outward behavior.
Beyond theology and ritual, it includes applied political science (Rajadharma): intelligence discipline, secrecy, and administrative prudence—showing the Purana’s wide coverage of real-world governance systems.
By restraining speech and guarding confidential counsel for the welfare of the realm, the ruler avoids harm to subjects; such self-control (saṃyama) and protection of the common good is treated as dharmic conduct that supports righteous rule.
