Naadbindu

विस्मृत्य विश्वमेकाग्रः कुत्रचिन्न हि धावति । मनोमत्तगजेन्द्रस्य विषयोद्यानचारिणः ॥

नियामनसमर्थोऽयं निनादो निशिताङ्कुशः । नादोऽन्तरङ्गसारङ्गबन्धने वागुरायते ॥

अन्तरङ्गसमुद्रस्य रोधे वेलायतेऽपि च । ब्रह्मप्रणवसंलग्ननादो ज्योतिर्मयात्मकः ॥४४–४६॥

विस्मृत्य । विश्वम् । एकाग्रः । कुत्रचित् । न । हि । धावति । मनः । मत्त-गजेन्द्रस्य । विषय-उद्यान-चारिणः ॥

नियामन-समर्थः । अयम् । निनादः । निशित-अङ्कुशः । नादः । अन्तरङ्ग-सारङ्ग-बन्धने । वागुरा । आयते ॥

अन्तरङ्ग-समुद्रस्य । रोधे । वेला । आयते । अपि । च । ब्रह्म-प्रणव-संलग्न-नादः । ज्योतिः-मय-आत्मकः ॥४४–४६॥

vismṛtya viśvam ekāgraḥ kutracinn a hi dhāvati | mano-matta-gajendrasya viṣayodyāna-cāriṇaḥ ||

niyāmana-samartho 'yaṃ ninādo niśitāṅkuśaḥ | nādo 'ntaraṅga-sāraṅga-bandhane vāgurāyate ||

antaraṅga-samudrasya rodhe velāyate 'pi ca | brahma-praṇava-saṃlagna-nādo jyotir-mayātmakaḥ ||44–46||

เมื่อหลงลืมจักรวาลและตั้งมั่นเป็นหนึ่งเดียว จิตย่อมไม่วิ่งไปที่ใด—ดุจช้างเจ้าผู้เมามายเที่ยวอยู่ในสวนแห่งอารมณ์ทางอินทรีย์. เสียงกังวานนี้เป็นตะขอคม (อังกุศ) ที่สามารถข่มได้; นาทะเป็นดั่งแหผูกมัดกวางภายใน. และในการกั้นมหาสมุทรภายใน มันประหนึ่งเป็นแนวฝั่ง; นาทะที่ประกอบกับพรหมัน-ปรณวะ (โอม) มีสภาวะเป็นแสงสว่าง.

Forgetting the universe, one-pointed, it does not run anywhere—the mind, like an intoxicated lordly elephant roaming in the garden of sense-objects. This resonance is a sharp goad capable of restraint; nāda becomes a net for binding the inner deer. And in checking the inner ocean it becomes, as it were, a shoreline; the nāda joined to the Brahman-Pranava is of the nature of light.
