Verse 35

Brahmavidya

तिलेषु च यथा तैलं पुष्पे गन्ध इवाश्रितः । पुरुषस्य शरीरेऽस्मिन् स बाह्याभ्यन्तरे तथा ॥३५॥

तिलेषु च यथा तैलम् पुष्पे गन्धः इव आश्रितः । पुरुषस्य शरीरे अस्मिन् सः बाह्य-अभ्यन्तरे तथा ।

tileṣu ca yathā tailaṃ puṣpe gandha ivāśritaḥ | puruṣasya śarīre 'smin sa bāhyābhyantare tathā ||35||

ดุจน้ำมันที่แฝงอยู่ในเมล็ดงา และดุจกลิ่นหอมที่สถิตในดอกไม้ ฉันใด ในกายของบุรุษนี้ ‘สิ่งนั้น’ (อาตมัน) ก็สถิตฉันนั้น ทั้งภายนอกและภายใน.

As oil (is) in sesame seeds, and as fragrance is lodged in a flower, so in this body of the person, That (Self) is likewise (present) outwardly and inwardly.
