skāndaṃ purāṇametacca kumāreṇa puroddhṛtam | yaḥ śṛṇoti satāṃ madhye naraḥ pāpādvimucyate

สกันทปุราณะนี้ได้ถูกนำออกเผยแผ่เป็นครั้งแรกโดยกุมาระ ผู้เยาว์ทิพย์ ผู้ใดสดับในหมู่สัตบุรุษ ผู้นั้นย่อมพ้นจากบาปกรรม
