aṣṭādaśapurāṇānāṃ sārātsārataraṃ ca yat | tadahaṃ kathayiṣyāmi bhuktimuktiphalapradam

สิ่งใดเป็นแก่นแท้—ยิ่งกว่าแก่นแท้—แห่งปุราณะทั้งสิบแปด เราจักเล่าให้ฟัง; สิ่งนั้นประทานผลทั้งภุกติ (ความสมบูรณ์ทางโลก) และมุกติ (ความหลุดพ้น)
