शिवरात्रौ वसेद्यस्तु लिंगे सिद्धेशसंज्ञिते । स्नात्वा ऋषिकृते तीर्थे किं तस्यान्येन वै द्विजाः । गत्वा तत्र महाभागा गृहीत्वा फलमुत्तमम्
śivarātrau vasedyastu liṃge siddheśasaṃjñite | snātvā ṛṣikṛte tīrthe kiṃ tasyānyena vai dvijāḥ | gatvā tatra mahābhāgā gṛhītvā phalamuttamam
ผู้ใดในคืนศิวราตรีเฝ้าตื่นอยู่ ณ ลึงค์นามว่า สิทเธศะ และอาบน้ำในตีรถะที่เหล่าฤๅษีได้สร้างไว้—โอ้พราหมณ์ทั้งหลาย เขายังจำเป็นต้องมีพิธีอื่นใดเล่า? ครั้นไปถึงที่นั้น โอ้ผู้มีบุญ เขาย่อมได้ผลอันประเสริฐสูงสุด
