arghyamantraḥ | snātvā yaḥ parayā bhaktyā pitṝnsaṃtarpya bhāvataḥ | kuryācchrāddhaṃ ca parayā pitṛbhaktyā samanvitaḥ
Śrī Kṛṣṇa (introducing/quoting the arghya-mantra and its observance)
Tirtha: Māyā-saras
Type: kund
Listener: Pilgrims/ṛṣis (contextual)
Scene: Pilgrims bathe in a sacred lake, then sit facing south performing tarpaṇa with water and sesame, followed by a śrāddha setting with offerings arranged on kuśa grass.
Sincere inner feeling (bhāva) is essential—ritual becomes fruitful when joined with devotion toward the Pitṛs.
The Dvārakā tīrtha in this chapter (Mayatīrtha/Mayasya-saras), where these ancestor-rites are recommended.
Bathe, perform Pitṛ-tarpaṇa with heartfelt intent, and then do śrāddha with strong pitṛbhakti.
