ततश्चिंतान्विता देवा इदमूचुः परस्परम् । अविद्याकामसंवीताः कुर्यामः शंकरं च कम्

tataściṃtānvitā devā idamūcuḥ parasparam | avidyākāmasaṃvītāḥ kuryāmaḥ śaṃkaraṃ ca kam

แล้วเหล่าเทวะผู้เปี่ยมด้วยความกังวลกล่าวแก่กันว่า “เมื่อถูกอวิชชาและกามฉาบคลุม เราควรทำประการใด และจักตั้งผู้ใดเป็นศังกร ผู้พิทักษ์ของเรา?”
