महेन्द्र मुद्दिश्य तदा ह्युपहाससमन्वितः । अक्षमाश्च वयं सर्वे महेन्द्रेण कृताः सुराः
mahendra muddiśya tadā hyupahāsasamanvitaḥ | akṣamāśca vayaṃ sarve mahendreṇa kṛtāḥ surāḥ
แล้วเขาก็เหลือบมองมหินทร (อินทรา) ด้วยถ้อยคำแฝงหยอกเย้าอย่างอ่อนโยน ตรัสว่า: “พวกเราทวยเทพทั้งปวงถูกมหินทราทำให้ไร้กำลังแล้ว”
