नारद उवाच । अथान्यत्संप्रवक्ष्यामि शालामाहात्म्य मुत्तमम् । संस्थापिते पुरा स्थाने प्रोक्तोहं द्विजपुंगवैः

nārada uvāca | athānyatsaṃpravakṣyāmi śālāmāhātmya muttamam | saṃsthāpite purā sthāne proktohaṃ dvijapuṃgavaiḥ

นารทกล่าวว่า: บัดนี้เราจักประกาศเรื่องอันประเสริฐอีกประการหนึ่ง คือมหิมาแห่งศาลา กาลก่อน ณ สถานศักดิ์สิทธิ์อันได้สถาปนาไว้ เราได้รับคำสั่งสอนเรื่องนี้จากพราหมณ์ผู้ประเสริฐทั้งหลาย
