परार्थाय भवत्येष पुरुषोऽन्ये पुरीषकाः । ततः संचिंत्य प्राहेदं सुभद्रो मुनिसत्तमम्

Transliteration

parārthāya bhavatyeṣa puruṣo'nye purīṣakāḥ | tataḥ saṃciṃtya prāhedaṃ subhadro munisattamam

Translation

“ชีวิตมนุษย์นี้มีไว้เพื่อประโยชน์แก่ผู้อื่น; ผู้ใดอยู่เพื่อสิ่งอื่นก็ไม่ต่างจากของโสโครก” ครั้นไตร่ตรองดังนี้ สุภัทราจึงกล่าวถ้อยคำนี้ต่อมุนีผู้ประเสริฐยิ่ง
