etasmātkāraṇāddevo darpitaṃ taṃ dadāha tu | tato dagdhe smare cāpi pārvatīmapi vrītitām

ด้วยเหตุนี้เอง พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจึงเผาผลาญผู้อวดดีผู้นั้น; ครั้นเมื่อสมร (กามเทพ) ถูกเผาเป็นเถ้า พระนางปารวตีเทวีก็ถูกความละอายครอบงำ
