Tirtha: Śūlaṭaṅka Maheśvara (within Prayāga tīrtha sphere)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A shrine or sacred spot where Mahādeva stands as Śūlaṭaṅka, trident prominent; freshly bathed pilgrims listen as if receiving liberating instruction; the atmosphere is numinous and didactic.
A tīrtha becomes supremely liberating when Śiva is present there; sacred bathing is joined to divine instruction toward mokṣa.
Prayāga, described as a seat of Śiva in the form called Śūlaṭaṅka.
Āplavana/snānā (immersion or bathing) at the tīrtha is implied as the qualifying act.
