Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A benefactor respectfully facilitates a brāhmaṇa wedding: the bride and groom seated near a sacred fire, elders blessing, the donor offering garments/coins and arranging the pāṇigrahaṇa rite; a subtle Kāśī backdrop with ghāṭs and temple spires.
Helping the unprotected complete essential dharmic rites is a high charity that yields both worldly well-being and lasting heavenly merit.
The statement occurs in the Kāśī Khaṇḍa milieu; Kāśī’s dharma-teaching frames such acts as especially meritorious.
To facilitate the pāṇigraha (marriage rite) for one who is anātha (without support), presented as a source of akṣaya merit.
