ฤๅษีระลึกถึงพระศิวะ ผู้เป็นจอมแห่งคณะคณา แล้วให้เด็กยืนตรงหันหน้าไปทางทิศเหนือ จากนั้นจึงวัดตั้งแต่ฝ่าเท้าจนถึงกระหม่อมศีรษะ
