FAQs

Charity becomes dharmic and fruitful when offered to a worthy recipient; if the intended recipient cannot receive it, dedicating it to Mahādeva preserves the sanctity of the vow.

Setu-kṣetra (Setukhaṇḍa’s sacred geography), where dāna is emphasized as especially potent and therefore must be done correctly.

A rule for redirected dāna: give to the deceased recipient’s son; if unavailable, offer to Mahādeva—never to an unfit recipient, particularly at a tīrtha.
