बध्यतां वध्यतामेष याति वेगान्मृगो वने । एवं वदत्सु सैन्येषु स्वयमुत्प्लुत्य शंकरः

badhyatāṃ vadhyatāmeṣa yāti vegānmṛgo vane | evaṃ vadatsu sainyeṣu svayamutplutya śaṃkaraḥ

“จับไว้! ฆ่าเสีย! กวางหนีเข้าป่าไปอย่างรวดเร็ว!”—เมื่อทหารร้องตะโกนกันดังนี้ ศังกรก็ทรงกระโจนออกไปด้วยพระองค์เอง
