tāni rāmeśvare dṛṣṭe vilayaṃ yāṃti sarvadā | saṃparkātkautukāllobhādbhayādvāpi ca saṃsmaran
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) (deduced)
Tirtha: Rāmeśvara
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim approaches the sea-girt Rāmeśvara shrine; the mere sight of the liṅga radiates a purifying blaze, while shadowy ‘sins’ dissolve like mist; figures of varied motives—curious onlookers, fearful supplicants, greedy traders—are all touched by the same sanctifying aura.
The sanctity of Rāmeśvara is portrayed as so potent that even imperfect motives can still lead toward purification.
Rāmeśvaram/Setu—through darśana and smaraṇa of Rāmeśvara.
Darśana (seeing) and smaraṇa (remembering), even arising from incidental causes.
