śrīsūta uvāca | parvakāle tu vipreṃdrāḥ samāvṛtte munikratau | mahābhīmo rajovarṣo jhaṃjhāvātaśca bhīṣaṇaḥ
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa/Sūta narrator)
Tirtha: Setukṣetra (Setubandha)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (viprendra)
Scene: A sacrificial enclosure at festival-time; sages seated around the fire as a wall of dust rises and a violent gale bends trees and whips banners, darkening the sky over the Setu landscape.
Dharma (yajña and sacred observances) is often tested by disruptive forces; steadiness and divine support safeguard righteous rites.
Setu (Setubandha/Rāmeśvara sacred region) within the Setu Māhātmya of the Skanda Purāṇa.
A muni-kratu (sages’ sacrificial rite) is referenced; the verse itself focuses on the arising impediment rather than a specific injunction.
