tṛṇairācchādya vasudhāṃ śiraḥ prāvṛtya vāsasā | karṇopavīta udagvaktro divase saṃdhyayorapi

ปูพื้นด้วยหญ้าและคลุมศีรษะด้วยผ้า แล้วพาดอุปวีตะ (สายศักดิ์สิทธิ์) ไว้ที่หู พึงหันหน้าไปทางทิศเหนือในเวลากลางวัน และในยามรอยต่อแห่งสนธยาทั้งสองด้วย
