ब्राह्मणा ऊचुः । कथं पाखंडधर्मेण लुप्तशासनको भवान् । पालयस्व नृपश्रेष्ठ मा स्म पापे मनः कृथाः
brāhmaṇā ūcuḥ | kathaṃ pākhaṃḍadharmeṇa luptaśāsanako bhavān | pālayasva nṛpaśreṣṭha mā sma pāpe manaḥ kṛthāḥ
พราหมณ์ทั้งหลายกล่าวว่า: “ท่านจะด้วยธรรมแห่งลัทธินอกทาง ไฉนจึงละทิ้งพระบัญญัติแห่งศาสตราได้? ข้าแต่มหาราชผู้ประเสริฐ จงทรงพิทักษ์พระบัญญัตินั้นเถิด อย่าให้พระทัยเอนเอียงสู่บาปเลย”
