สุตะกล่าวว่า ผู้ใดไม่สามารถปฏิบัติไตรวิธีเริ่มด้วยการสดับ (ศรวณะ) ได้ พึงสถาปนาศังกรลิงคะและศังกรเบระ (รูปเคารพ) แล้วบูชาด้วยภักติเป็นนิตย์ ย่อมข้ามพ้นมหาสมุทรแห่งสังสาระได้
