FAQs

It teaches that surrender (śaraṇāgati) is made concrete through Guru-sevā: offering one’s resources and even daily necessities first to the Guru, thereby purifying ego and aligning the disciple with Shiva’s grace-bearing lineage.

In Shaiva tradition the Guru is honored as the revealer of Shiva-tattva and the right method of Linga worship; serving and obeying the Guru safeguards correct ritual, mantra-dīkṣā, and devotional attitude toward Saguna Shiva.

A practical discipline is to offer the first portion of food (naivedya-bhāva) and take one’s meal only after permission—training mindfulness, restraint, and devotion; it supports mantra practice by cultivating humility and purity.
