Tattva Level: pasha
Offering: naivedya
Cosmic Event: Purāṇic hyperbole of oceans of offerings (bhoga-samṛddhi)
By describing oceans of refined enjoyments (honey, ghee, foods, fruits), the text highlights the vastness of cosmic abundance while implicitly teaching Shaiva detachment: even exalted pleasures remain within the realm of pasha (bondage) unless oriented toward Pati—Lord Shiva.
Such luxuriant descriptions set a contrast between worldly/heavenly prosperity and the higher aim of Linga-worship—steadfast devotion to Saguna Shiva that purifies the mind and leads beyond enjoyment to grace (anugraha) and liberation.
The practical takeaway is vairagya with bhakti: offer food (naivedya) in Shiva-puja without craving its enjoyment, and meditate on Shiva as the inner Lord (Pati) who alone frees the soul from attachment to abundance.
