उपमन्युतपः-निवारणप्रसङ्गः / Śiva restrains Upamanyu’s tapas (Śiva disguised as Indra)
तन्निशम्य हरिः १ प्राह मां न जानासि लेखपम् । त्रैलोक्याधिपतिं शक्रं सर्वदेवनमस्कृतम्
tanniśamya hariḥ 1 prāha māṃ na jānāsi lekhapam | trailokyādhipatiṃ śakraṃ sarvadevanamaskṛtam
ครั้นได้ยินดังนั้น หริจึงกล่าวว่า “โอ้เสมียนเอ๋ย เจ้าไม่รู้จักเราหรือ? เราคือศักระ ผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งไตรโลก ผู้ซึ่งเทพทั้งปวงนอบน้อมสักการะ”

The verse highlights how divine identity and worldly authority (lordship over the three worlds) can be asserted, yet in Shaiva Siddhanta such status remains within the realm of bound souls (paśu) under cosmic bonds (pāśa), ultimately subordinate to the Supreme Lord (Pati), Śiva.
By contrasting deva-glory with the need for true recognition, the narrative indirectly points to Saguna Śiva (worshipped as the Liṅga) as the stable refuge beyond shifting titles like 'Śakra'; Liṅga worship centers devotion on Pati rather than on temporary cosmic offices.
The practical takeaway is discernment (viveka) in devotion—direct worship to Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady Liṅga-upāsanā, rather than fixation on worldly power or rank.
