Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It teaches that even exalted cosmic powers function rightly only when grounded in the Supreme Self—transcendent reality identified with the highest principle (Pati). Spiritual life is to take refuge in that Paramātma-state while living and acting.
In Shaiva understanding, Saguna forms (such as Maheśvara’s cosmic role) operate within the world, while the Linga points to the Supreme beyond form. This verse harmonizes both: divine functions continue, yet their foundation is the formless Supreme station (Paramātma-pada).
The takeaway is inner refuge: maintain remembrance of the Supreme (Śiva as Paramātman) while performing duties—supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and meditation on the Linga as the sign of the transcendent.
