The Supreme Lord as the Uncaused Cause
yadidaṃ kṣaramavyaktaṃ yadapyamṛtamakṣaram | tāvubhāvakṣarātmānāveko devaḥ svayaṃ haraḥ
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: Ontological synthesis of kṣara (mutable) and akṣara/amṛta (immutable/deathless) under the one Hara—cosmic totality framed as His self-expression.
It teaches non-dual Shaiva theology: both the mutable (kṣara) and the immutable (akṣara) ultimately rest in one supreme Pati—Hara—who transcends yet pervades all states of existence.
The Liṅga is a saguna support for worship that points to the same Hara who is also beyond form (akṣara). Thus, devotion to the manifest symbol leads the seeker toward realization of the imperishable essence.
Meditate on Śiva as both immanent and transcendent—japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with liṅga-dhyāna, contemplating that all changing experience and the changeless Self are grounded in Hara.
