It teaches ananya-bhakti—single-minded devotion where the mind is surrendered to Shiva (Pati). Such surrender draws Shiva’s anugraha (grace), expressed here as His special resolve to protect the devotee from bondage and fear.
Linga/Saguna worship is a concrete support for offering the mind to Shiva. The verse emphasizes inner exclusivity (ananya-dhī) rather than mere external ritual—Linga worship becomes effective when it culminates in undivided remembrance and surrender.
Practice one-pointed japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with mental offering (mayyarpita-manā), supported by daily Shiva-puja; optionally reinforce with Tripuṇḍra bhasma and Rudrāksha as aids to steadiness and devotion.
