Bhadra’s Onslaught among the Deva Hosts

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Śiva’s trident and the flames signify the Lord (Pati) actively dissolving obstructive powers and inner impurities (pāśa), clearing the path for the soul (paśu) toward liberation—an image aligned with the Vāyavīya focus on yoga and bondage-release.
The verse highlights Saguna Śiva—His manifest, compassionate power that protects and purifies. In Linga-worship, devotees approach the same Lord whose energies burn ignorance and negativity, while the Linga points to His transcendent (Nirguna) reality beyond form.
Meditate on Śiva as the purifier: mentally offer inner impurities into His flame-like consciousness while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and, where customary, support practice with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as reminders of purification and restraint.
