Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: nurturing
Cosmic Event: Saptarṣi institution (cosmic governance through seerhood) implied
It establishes a sacred lineage of the Saptarṣis, the archetypal gurus who preserve dharma and transmit Shaiva wisdom; in Shaiva Siddhanta, such guru-paramparā is essential for right knowledge (jñāna) leading the bound soul (paśu) toward Shiva (Pati).
Though the verse is genealogical, it frames the rishis as authoritative transmitters of Shiva-centered worship—those who uphold Vedic rites and Shaiva observances, through which devotees approach Saguna Shiva (including Linga worship) with proper mantra, purity, and discipline.
The implied takeaway is reverence for the rishis and adherence to their taught disciplines—daily mantra-japa (especially Shiva mantras such as the Panchakshara), purity of conduct, and guru-guided practice; specific items like bhasma or rudraksha are not directly prescribed in this verse.
