Tattva Level: pashu
Role: teaching
The verse praises the ideal śiṣya: one who asks rightly, hears fully, and retains the teaching—showing that devotion to Pati (Shiva) ripens into clarity, memory, and spiritual readiness for liberation.
It frames Shiva-worship as a transmitted tradition: by faithful discipleship to the Lord’s teaching, one understands the proper meaning of Saguna worship (like the Linga) and remembers the disciplines that lead the mind toward Shiva.
It implies śravaṇa (attentive hearing), manana (reflection), and smaraṇa (remembrance) of Shiva’s instruction—practically supported by daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady devotional focus.
