Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; it extends the prophetic-guru narrative by naming future tapasvin disciples who will align with Śiva’s manifestation.
Significance: Frames pilgrimage inwardly as discipleship (śiṣyatva) and tapas under Śiva’s guidance—key Siddhānta motif of grace operating through guru-paramparā.
Cosmic Event: Continuation of age-cycle forecasting
It highlights Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who accepts sincere tapasvins as His own disciples, showing that disciplined austerity and devotion can mature into direct divine guidance and grace.
By naming specific devotees as Shiva’s disciples, the verse emphasizes Saguna Shiva’s accessible, personal relationship with worshippers—often expressed in Purana practice through Linga-upasana, mantra-japa, and service.
The verse points toward tapas supported by Shiva-bhakti—practically expressed as steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with simple Shaiva observances like vibhuti (tripuṇḍra) and disciplined conduct.
