Kirātāvatāra, Durvāsā-upākhyāna, and the Logic of Divine Rescue
Kirātākhyam-avatāra; Pāṇḍava-prasaṅga
तत्रोपविष्टं तं व्यासं पूजयन्ति स्म हर्षिताः । स्तुतिं च विविधां कृत्वा धन्याः स्म इति वादिनः
tatropaviṣṭaṃ taṃ vyāsaṃ pūjayanti sma harṣitāḥ | stutiṃ ca vividhāṃ kṛtvā dhanyāḥ sma iti vādinaḥ
ณ ที่นั้น เมื่อเห็นท่านวยาสะประทับนั่งบนอาสนะ พวกเขาก็ปลื้มปีติและบูชาท่าน ด้วยบทสรรเสริญนานาประการ แล้วกล่าวว่า “พวกเราช่างเป็นผู้มีบุญยิ่งนัก”

It highlights guru-vandana: reverence to the realized teacher (Vyāsa) as a doorway to Shiva’s grace. Joyful worship and sincere praise purify the devotee and make one fit to receive Shaiva knowledge leading toward moksha.
In Shaiva tradition, honoring the guru and saints is part of Saguna-bhakti that supports Linga-worship. The same attitude of devotion—pūjā, stuti, and gratitude—becomes the inner offering that culminates in steadfast worship of Shiva in manifest form.
The verse suggests pūjā and stuti (devotional praise) with a grateful mind. Practically, one may begin worship with guru-pranāma, followed by recitation of Shiva-stotras or the Panchakshara mantra as an offering of speech and attention.
