ครั้งนั้นพระศังกร ครั้นทรงทราบว่าพระคุรุและพระอินทร์กำลังเสด็จมา ก็เสด็จออกไปต้อนรับ เพื่อจะทรงทดสอบเจตนาภายในของทั้งสอง ผู้มีจิตดื่มด่ำในปีติแห่งการได้เห็นพระองค์
