FAQs

It highlights the Purāṇic law of karma: even devas are accountable, and adharma provokes corrective consequences through the power of a righteous person’s tapas and truth.

By showing that worldly powers (even celestial) are limited and subject to moral order, the verse indirectly points the devotee toward taking refuge in Saguna Shiva (the compassionate Lord) beyond fluctuating fortunes created by curses and boons.

The takeaway is to cultivate sādhvī-bhāva—purity, restraint, and truthfulness—and to support it with Shaiva practice such as japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to steady the mind and avoid actions that lead to binding reactions.
