Though the verse names Brahman and a Vaiṣṇava devotee, the Shiva Purana often uses such moments to affirm harmony among authentic paths: devotion to the Supreme—whether approached as Saguna (with form) or as the transcendent—supports dharma and leads toward Shiva’s grace and liberation.
The implied practice is steadfast bhakti and disciplined dharma—regular worship, remembrance of the Supreme, and unwavering devotion; in Shaiva framing this aligns naturally with japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and sincere daily pūjā.
