दुन्दुभिनिर्ह्रादनिर्णयः / Dundubhinirhrāda’s Stratagem: Targeting the Brāhmaṇas

Suta Goswami (narrating the Yuddhakhaṇḍa account to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It highlights tattva-vicāra (discernment of truth): repeated reflection leads to certainty, and one recognizes the deeper causes behind events rather than reacting only to surface conflict—an essential step toward Shaiva clarity and right action.
In Shaiva practice, Linga-worship trains the mind to look beyond appearances to the underlying tattva (Shiva as the inner ground). This verse mirrors that movement: from agitation to discernment of the real causes, aligning the devotee with Shiva’s ordering wisdom.
A practical takeaway is japa with steady contemplation—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—performed with calm reflection (vicāra) to see causes clearly and act without delusion.
