Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
The verse highlights the karmic turning-point where speech and counsel shape action; in Shaiva understanding, right discernment (dharma-buddhi) must ultimately align with devotion to Pati (Śiva), otherwise worldly strategy remains bound within conflict and bondage (pāśa).
Though the verse is narrative, it frames the contrast between reliance on ministerial power versus surrender to Saguna Śiva, the Lord who grants protection and liberation; the wider Yuddhakhaṇḍa context repeatedly shows that victory and peace are stabilized by Śiva’s grace rather than mere political or martial counsel.
A practical takeaway is to purify speech and intention before action—recite the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and mentally offer one’s decisions at Śiva’s feet, cultivating dharmic discernment rather than reactive conflict.
