Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude
अत्रैव सुचरित्रं च शंकरस्य महाप्रभोः । कृष्णेन समरोप्यत्र शंभोर्बाणानुगृह्णतः
atraiva sucaritraṃ ca śaṃkarasya mahāprabhoḥ | kṛṣṇena samaropyatra śaṃbhorbāṇānugṛhṇataḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya in the Rudrasaṃhitā narrative flow)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights Śiva’s anugraha (saving grace): even amid conflict, the Lord’s supreme nature is revealed through compassionate protection of a devotee, showing that divine justice is fulfilled without abandoning mercy.
The verse points to Saguna Śiva—Śambhu as the personal Lord who actively intervenes in history to grant grace. Linga worship similarly approaches Śiva as the accessible, compassionate Pati (Lord) who bestows protection and liberation.
Contemplate Śiva as Anugraha-mūrti (the form of grace) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating surrender and trust that the Lord’s compassion guides even turbulent life-situations.
