It highlights how moha (bewilderment/infatuation) can overtake all classes of people, illustrating bondage (pāśa) that veils discernment; Shaiva teaching points toward seeking Shiva as Pati, the liberator beyond such delusion.
In contrast to collective delusion caused by worldly allure or supernatural influence, Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upāsanā) stabilizes the mind and restores right-seeing, redirecting attention from transient appearances to Shiva’s grace-bearing form.
A practical takeaway is to counter moha through steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and regular Shiva-smaraṇa, cultivating clarity (viveka) amid distraction.
