It highlights the restoration of harmony (prīti) and rightful order (adhikāra) in the cosmos—an expression of dharma where conflict is resolved and divine functions return to their proper place under higher ordinance.
In the Shiva Purana narrative, cosmic stability and the right functioning of the devas ultimately depend on alignment with the Supreme Lord’s will; Linga/Saguna-Shiva worship is presented as a means to re-establish inner and outer order when disharmony arises.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate prīti through japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined dharmic conduct, which supports reconciliation and steadiness of one’s duties (adhikāra) in daily life.
