It highlights humility and devotion as the proper response to divine power: reverent prostration (praṇāma) and praise (stuti) purify the mind and align the devotee with dharma, a key Shaiva Purana theme even within battle narratives.
Though Viṣṇu is praised here, the Shiva Purana’s Shaiva Siddhānta lens treats such reverence as honoring divine functions within the cosmic order under Pati (Śiva). The same bhakti posture—añjali, namaskāra, stuti—applies directly to Saguna Śiva and Liṅga worship.
Practice añjali-mudrā with sincere praṇāma before worship, followed by stotra-recitation; as a Shaiva takeaway, combine this with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to stabilize devotion and concentration.
