Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta mood of vinaya (humble surrender) and stuti (devotional praise): when the devotee recognizes Shiva as the tejasvin, all-pervading Vibhū, the heart becomes steady in joy and receptivity to His grace (anugraha).
The verse reflects Saguna-upasana: approaching Shiva through visible, praise-worthy presence—bowing, honoring, and remaining near Him with devotion—just as devotees stand before the Shiva Linga with reverence, seeing the Linga as the accessible form of the all-pervading Lord.
A simple practice is indicated: offer praṇāma, recite stuti/mantra (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and remain in attentive stillness (upāsanā) with joyful devotion—optionally supported by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as Shaiva aids.
