Suta Goswami (narrating the hymn of praise within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: विष्टरश्रवसे तुभ्यं नमस्सत्यमयाय च । सत्यप्रियाय सत्याय सत्यगम्याय ते नमः
Type: stotra
The verse identifies Shiva as Satya itself—Pati (the Lord) whose grace is approached through satya (truthfulness, integrity, and right seeing). In Shaiva Siddhanta, such alignment with truth purifies the pashu (bound soul) and loosens pasha (bondage), making the soul fit for Shiva’s anugraha (liberating grace).
In Linga worship, Shiva is adored as the steady, unchanging Reality behind all forms. Calling Him 'satya' and 'satya-gamya' frames the Linga not as mere symbol but as the accessible focus for Saguna devotion that leads the devotee toward the recognition of Shiva as the ultimate Truth.
Adopt satya as a vrata (vow) alongside daily Shiva-puja: recite the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with truthful intention, offer water and bilva with a mind free of deceit, and use japa as self-audit—letting truthfulness become the inner worship that makes Shiva 'satya-gamya' (attainable through truth).
