The Provocation of Śiva
sanatkumāra uvāca | ityākarṇya vacastasya puruṣasya mahāprabhuḥ | pratyuvācādbhutotiḥ sa kautukī svahitaṃkaraḥ
Sanatkumara
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights the Shaiva principle that śravaṇa (attentive listening) followed by a thoughtful response is a doorway to svahita—one’s true welfare—ultimately oriented toward devotion and liberation under Pati (Śiva).
Though not naming the Liṅga directly, it models the devotional posture central to Saguna Śiva worship: hearing sacred instruction, cultivating reverent curiosity, and responding in a way that aligns one’s life with Śiva’s grace.
The implied practice is śravaṇa-manana: listen to Śiva-kathā, reflect with sincere curiosity, and respond through japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined conduct that supports one’s spiritual welfare.
